Race day
Sunday 22 November
Everything a parent needs on the morning. If anything here is unclear, call the helpline — a person answers.
Reporting times
Three different times, so no small child stands waiting for an hour. Please come at your child's time, not earlier.
The 13–16 races start at Kottakunnu, not at the College Ground, and finish at the Ground. Please plan the drop-off.
The order of the races
What to bring
- The race bib, already pinned on
- The age proof you uploaded
- Running shoes your child has worn before
- A water bottle
- Your phone, for the finish photograph
Please do not bring anything valuable. There is no bag storage.
Age
Age is counted as on 22 November 2026. The first three finishers in every race are checked against their age proof before prizes are handed over. An incorrect age means disqualification, so please enter the date of birth carefully.
If it rains
The children still run. The one thing that stops a race is lightning.
A decision is taken at 5:30 on race morning and sent to every parent by 5:45. There are only two outcomes: the race starts on time, or it is delayed by one hour. If there is thunder or lightning nearby, everyone moves under cover and we wait.
Parents on the course
Parents are welcome all along the route and at the finish, but only registered children run on the course. The 800 M race is entirely inside the College Ground, where you can watch every step of it.
Medical
A doctor and an ambulance are on site for the whole morning, and the course is marshalled throughout. Your child's fitness to run is your judgement to make — if they are unwell on the morning, please keep them at home. The medal and certificate are theirs either way.
Photographs
Photographs and video are taken at the event and may be used by Wayanad Round Table 277 in reports, press coverage and future Kidathon material.
