Refunds & cancellation

Short version: we would rather move your entry to another child than take your money for nothing.

Entry fees

The entry fee for Wayanad Kidathon 2026 is ₹350 during the early-bird window (16 September to 22 October 2026) and ₹600 from 23 October to 15 November 2026. The fee covers the race bib and chest number, a finisher medal, a participation certificate, breakfast and refreshments, and the cost of running a marshalled course with medical cover.

Entry fees are not refundable

Once an entry is confirmed, the fee is not refundable. Bibs, medals, certificates and food are ordered on the strength of confirmed entries, well before race day.

You can transfer the entry instead

If your child cannot take part, call the helpline before 8 November 2026 and we will transfer the entry to another child at no cost. The chest number stays the same; only the name changes. The replacement child must fall in the same race — that is, the same age band and the same category — because the chest number belongs to that race.

Transfers are made over the phone so that we can check the new child's age at the same time.

When we do refund

• A payment taken in error — most often a double payment, where the same child was paid for twice. Call the helpline and we will refund one of them.
• A payment taken for an entry that could not be confirmed — for example if a race filled at the same moment.
• If the event is cancelled outright by us and not held at all in the 2026 season.

Refunds are made to the same card, UPI ID or account the payment came from. They are started within 3 working days of us agreeing to the refund, and typically reach you 5 to 7 working days after that, depending on your bank.

Weather

The races go ahead in rain. If lightning forces a delay, the races are held later the same morning. A delay is not a cancellation and does not create a refund.

Wrong details

If you have entered a name or a date of birth incorrectly, call the helpline as soon as you notice. Corrections are free. Certificates are written by hand from the name you gave, so please tell us before the first week of November.
